Community Engagement and Kent as a civic university

Join us to help shape a better future for the region
Join us for a special event on our Canterbury campus to hear about our vision for civic engagement at Kent, and get your input on what you and the county most need from us.

Over the coming months we are looking to engage in a wide-ranging discussion about how we as a University can best help to support the future success of our region.

Professor Shane Weller, our Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research & Innovation, will share our plans for positive change, tackling key issues and exploring our potential contribution to the region.

This will be followed by an engaging panel discussion about how universities can most benefit their communities and what changes need to be made for us to be ‘truly civic’ in our work.

We want to hear from you and start an ongoing discussion with the leaders in our communities, so join us to be part of this conversation and shape our work.

The evening will close with an opportunity for networking and learning more about some our current civic projects - including our work as the world's first Right to Food Universityand our Sanctuary project.

Please arrive to the Sibson Atrium for our welcome and launch, followed by the panel discussion in Sibson Lecture Theatre 1.
