Clarifying your career goals with the help of a Mentor

The Career Mentoring Scheme will help you get a clearer picture of life after university in your chosen career by connecting students with our experienced alumni mentors who are available to listen to and guide you.

A mentor is defined as 'a person with experience, knowledge, and connections who can help advance the career of another'. Connecting with a mentor is a great way to develop your employability skills, and also to make invaluable industry connections.  By engaging with former University of Kent students now working and volunteering as alumni mentors, you can get a clearer picture of what your desired profession is like in reality. A mentor can also clarify proactive steps you can take while studying to increase your chances of reaching your future goals. We are proud to have Career Mentors from our global alumni community hailing from more than 11 different nations including Azerbaijan, Italy, Portugal, Trinidad and Tobago, Zambia, Romania and the United Kingdom signed on to the virtual platform, and ready to share their knowledge and experience with you.

This event will walk you through the benefits of mentoring, give advice on choosing the right mentor; while sharing tips on making the most out of a mentoring relationship. At the end, the facilitator will take a quick tour of the Kent Community Builder online platform and show you how to create and use your student/mentee profile.
