African Apocalypse + Q&A

British Nigerian activist, poet, and actor, Femi Nylander, brings attention to the forgotten victims of colonial atrocity in African Apocalypse, from the award-winning director Rob Lemkin

Joseph Conrad’s seminal work, Heart of Darkness, serves as Femi Nylander’s guide as he follows the trail of a 19th century French colonial military commander who burned his way across Africa. With communities still devastated by a century-old atrocity speaking out for the first time, Nylander begins to question his own sense of belonging. This one-off screening is part of the centenary of Conrad, who sailed across the world during the height of colonialism before settling in Kent to write novels, novellas and short stories based on his experiences. It will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s director.
