To find the building location you are visiting:
- use the pedestrian wayfinding signs and maps located around the campus, next to bus stops and within car parks.
- use our online map. Type in the building name to highlight where it is located on campus.
- speak to an event student helper who are located around the campus to help and provide advice.

When using online tools to plan your journey to travel by public transport to our Canterbury campus, use the main University address and refer to travel advice given below.
Rail
Southeastern journey planning app and page are useful tools to help with planning your journey to Canterbury by train. Southeastern rail serves Canterbury East and Canterbury West train stations. The High-Speed service from London operates to/from Canterbury West.
From both Canterbury train stations, we recommend using the local bus service from the train stations to/from the campus.
Local Buses
Stagecoach Journey Planning app and page are useful tools to help with where and when to catch a bus within the East Kent area.
- Uni1, Uni2, Triangle and Number 4 services operate directly onto campus.
- Number 5 service operates on adjacent roads to campus.
Campus Bus stops are located around the campus. For this event, we recommend you alight at one of the following bus stops:
- Keynes stop (main bus stop that all buses serve).
- Science Building stop (Uni 1 & Uni 2 only)
- Darwin
- Park Wood
National Express
When using National Express planning your journey page type in University of Kent (Canterbury) as your destination.
The 022 National Express service operates to Canterbury Bus Station and our campus Keynes bus stop.

Open Day Event Parking
Follow the University of Kent yellow parking signs, which will direct you to the relevant Car Park. Where you can park free of charge, you do not require a permit to display for this event.
Applicant Events Parking Instructions
Follow the University of Kent yellow Applicant Event parking signs, which will direct you to the Giles Lane Car Park, and if this becomes full you will be directed to the Sports Centre Car Park. You can park free of charge in any car park, but require a permit to park Monday to Friday.
Campus Tours Parking Instructions
You can book a Canterbury Tour online. When booking you will be asked if you are coming to campus by car. If you select yes, you will be asked to provide your vehicle registration number. These details are then uploaded onto our parking system and you will receive an email confirming that your parking has been arranged. You can park free of charge in a marked bay within any car park, you do not require a permit to display for this event.
Making the most of your visit
If you have time, visit Canterbury and local areas to get a feel for where you could be studying and/or living. The City of Canterbury and the County of Kent offers a rich history, a variety of activities, restaurants, shopping and nightlife for all students, as well as, countryside and beaches nearby.
If you are thinking of staying overnight, there are plenty of places to stay within the area or even within our own University B&B rooms. If you decide to stay, maybe visit the Gulbenkian Arts Centre on campus or if you are feeling active try out the ‘Pay to Play’ at our Kent Sport facilities whilst you are here.
