Tim, like many technicians, took a somewhat scenic route into the profession.
After studying Law (including an Erasmus year at the University of Copenhagen), he had a brief stint working in local government compliance before returning to the University of Kent and eventually becoming the IT & Web Coordinator in the School of History. In 2021 he moved to a new role as a Technician (IT) within the University’s Division of Human & Social Sciences where he supports the Schools of Anthropology and Conservation, Economics, Politics and International Relations, and Psychology.
‘Being a technician within Higher Education continues to be a rewarding experience – you get work with fascinating people, are exposed to exciting projects, and are generally left with a feeling that your expertise is greatly appreciated’.
