Canterbury District Biodiversity Network

The Canterbury District Biodiversity Network was set up as a community initiative in 2020 with the aim of bringing together representatives of Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), the University of Kent, Canterbury City Council, Kent County Council, statutory agencies, conservation organisations and local community groups to share information and encourage joint working on biodiversity-related issues.

The Network formed to facilitate the exchange of information between groups, promote nature-based solutions to climate change and encourage local, regional, and national action to address the biodiversity crisis.

The University of Kent is proud to be part of the organising commitee supporting the running of the network.

As well as learning about local projects and events, members have the opportunity to participate in site visits where they can see different conservation projects in action.

The network have also supported the Wild Walls Project which brought the Bison mural to our campus.
