A multi-use space for students, staff and the local community, run in partnership with East Kent Mind
We are the Kent Community Oasis Garden (KentCOG), a collection of students, staff and community members working to create a sustainability hub centred around growing food.
Come along to one of our open sessions on Wednesday and Friday (10:00am – 2:00pm) to find out more, or email us at kentcog@kent.ac.uk
Are you leaving campus this summer? Sharing your space with houseplants is really rewarding, but what to do with them when you have to leave them behind?
We have the answer!
You can now give them up for rehoming or label them for summer boarding at KentCOG. You can drop them off at any of the UoK Canterbury accommodation receptions all summer term during opening hours for us to collect, or bring them down to KentCOG any Wednesday or Friday. We will make sure your plants have a good summer and rehome them to be cared for by someone new.
If you can't take them, donate them.
Make someone's day this Autumn with a new houseplant housemate.

Follow along with our useful video that will show you how to walk from the Sports Centre to the Kent Community Garden located in Parkwood.
KentCOG Student Ambassadors for 2023-24 are Charlie(left) and Ameira(right).
'We are both final year students at Kent who have found the garden to be a place of joy and community separate from our daily hectic uni lives. We both love the garden and are passionate about using our roles as ambassadors to make sure every single volunteer also feels the way we do about this amazing space. We are learning how to do these new roles and are always open to speak to anyone about anything regarding the garden, whether that is feedback, criticism or just a small question.'
Come along and enjoy the space.

Sustainable Houseplant growing on Campus
Sharing your space with houseplants can really help improve your wellbeing. But what can you do when they get sick? At KentCOG we have the answer with our monthly houseplant hospital sessions. We can offer advice, propagation, pots, compost and aim to support whatever your needs are, to encourage sustainable houseplant growing and sharing on campus.
If you're leaving campus we can also babysit them until your return or rehome them to a student who can offer them a new space to live in.

Supporting you to grow in a space near you.
To support students growing in their own green spaces, we have established a Tool Library at KentCOG.
UoK Students can borrow garden tools and equipment to help establish and maintain growing activities, whether that's seeding herbs for your windowsill kitchen garden or planting vegetables and wildflowers in a patch of green, the Tool Library can help.
Tools can be collected on a Wednesday morning from KentCOG and returned a week later. Click on the button for more information.
So have a go and grow in your green space and visit the garden to collect what you need.
All events take place at the garden unless otherwise stated. You can find directions to the garden using the location button in the top banner of the page. If you have any questions about getting involved, please email us at kentcog@kent.ac.uk
