Kent Player

Record or view lecture content

Functionality

KentPlayer is the University's lecture recording and viewing service that can be used to capture audio and video. The video will capture everything displayed on the computer screen including PowerPoint presentations and lecture notes. There is also the option to capture video from other cameras around the lecture/seminar room (if applicable) to aid in the capture of content written on whiteboards. When the recording has finished the content is then uploaded to Moodle to allow students to view it in their own time. KentPlayer is powered by Panopto, an educational tool for recording and sharing content. You can find the Panopto desktop application on Staff PCs around campus to use for recording lectures or seminars.

For students, you can view the lecture recordings through your Moodle module pages or by signing into Panopto directly using your Kent IT account credentials.
