The School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science is located in the Cornwallis Mathematical Institute building (E2 in the maps).
Reaching Canterbury from London:
The best train station for the University is Canterbury West (from Charing Cross, London St Pancras, Waterloo East and London Bridge stations) but you can also get trains to Canterbury East from London Victoria.
- High Speed Train between London St Pancras International and Canterbury West: Journey time approx. 60 minutes.
- London (Victoria) to Canterbury East: Journey time approx. 85 minutes.
- London (Charing Cross or Waterloo East) to Canterbury West: Journey time approx. 90 minutes.

Reaching Canterbury from France/Belgium
- Eurostar to Ashford - journey time approx 2 hours Paris; then train to Canterbury West, 20 minutes.
- Eurostar to Ebbsfleet - journey time approx 2 hours Brussels; then coach to Canterbury West, 45 minutes.
Local Canterbury travel
The University can be reached in a pleasant half hour walk from Canterbury West station.- Turn left out of the station and walk to the end of the road.
- Just after the 'Goods Shed' market on your left, take the footpath on the left and take the subway under the railway line.
- The University is signposted on blue signs from here.
Taxis are available at both Canterbury West and Canterbury East Stations. Fares should cost about £8. (Ask driver to stop at the bus stop by Darwin College. The School of Mathematics is right behind the bus stop.)
There is a regular bus service to the University from both the rail
and central bus stations. Return tickets cost £2 and can be
bought on board the bus. The Unibus (normally yellow) and buses 4, 4a
and 4b to Whitstable all stop at the University.
- Canterbury Bus Station to the University. Regular bus service taking approx. 14 minutes.
- From Canterbury East turn right straight outside the station (do not cross the bridge opposite the station) and follow the road to the bus stop.
- From Canterbury West turn right and walk to the end of the road. Cross the road at the zebra crossing and the bus stop is on the left.
