- Dr Nicky Wood
Dr Nicky Wood is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist based at the Children's Assessment Centre, Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
Dr Wood has over 20 years’ experience in the NHS, working with children and young people with neuro-developmental disorders, including autistic spectrum disorder (ASD); attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); learning disability and tics, as well as physical health conditions such as diabetes and cystic fibrosis. She has previously held posts with the paediatric neuro-disability team at Guys’ and St Thomas'/Evelina Children’s Hospital, as well as the Specialist Paediatric Sleep Service there.
Dr Wood has held research posts at the Institute of Psychiatry. She has special interests in ASD, sleep disorders and wetting and soiling in children.
She has two ongoing research projects: the development and evaluation of a psychoeducational resource for children and young people with cerebral palsy to enable better understanding of their condition, and a treatment trial using hypnosis with children and young people who wet the bed.
