Dr Yaniv Voller discussed the conditions leading to these latest clashes between Palestine and Israel this morning on BBC Radio Kent.

Voller described both governments as ‘almost dysfunctional’, with Israel unable to form a coalition and Palestine announcing then cancelling recent elections. These internal domestic tensions, with the easing of pandemic restrictions have exacerbated a return to ‘the normalcy of the conflict’ that only third party mediation will quash.
