- Virginia Ghiara
Dr Virginia Ghiara completed her PhD at University of Kent in 2019, her thesis focused on the use of big data for causal discoveries in the social sciences. During her PhD, Virginia collaborated with Public Health England and the School of Public Health at Imperial College London.
After her PhD, Virginia joined a UK What Works Centre and worked for 3 years on evidence-based policies. Virginia is currently working on AI Ethics, focusing on regulatory approaches and standardisation activities.
Virginia's research interests are mainly related to philosophy of science, ethics of artificial intelligence and epistemology. Her work is published, among others, in Synthese, Journal of evaluation in clinical practice, and Journal of mixed methods research.
