At Kent, we're working with Kent Union, our students’ union, to proactively support our students and tackle the impact of rising living costs. In partnership with The Food Foundation and the University, Kent Union conducted a survey of all current students to get a better understanding of how the cost of living crisis has impacted them and what help they need.
By talking and listening to our students we can make sure we're providing tailored support that will have an immediate impact.
We've listened and taken action. Here's just a few initiatives that have been introduced and developed over the past few months.
A main dish with freshly cooked veg, sides and salad, available every day (price correct Jan 23).
Kent Students' Union's Brunch Club offers free food from Canvas truck and Oasis Lounge at Medway.
A new no-fines policy has been introduced at all University of Kent libraries.
No student should have to choose between food and other basic needs. Campus Pantry is there to help.
We understand the issues our students are facing, and we are committed to providing practical help and support. We want our students to be able to focus on their studies and enjoying university life, and their families to be reassured that they are happy, healthy, safe and secure so they can achieve their best.
