Highlights of 2024

Our student entrepeneurs had the chance to pitch to a real Dragon when Kent Business School welcomed Touker Solomon. 

Projekt Encounter workshops platforming the work of first-generation migrants. And Generation FOMO tackled younger students' relationships with their phones and social media.   

Kent won a Green Gown award for becoming the first Right to Food University and the 'powerful and innovative ways' the initiative includes students, community and wider society. 

Kent was one of the biggest risers in The Times Guide, with a leap of 12 places from the previous year achieving a ranking of 40th out of 131 institutions nationally.    

We hosted Europe's first Taylor Swift  Conference discussing Swift as a feminist voice.   

Kent won a Research England grant, enabling the Durrell Institute of Conservation Ecology to tackle issues in conservation science with their Sharing Space for Nature project. 

Creator of Heartstopper, Alice Oseman was made a Doctor of Letters in recognition of their inspirational contribution to art, literature and support of the LGBTQ+ community.
