The next guest in the University’s popular In Conversation series on Saturday 7 November will be bestselling crime writer Ian Rankin.
Hosted by Kent Chancellor Gavin Esler, In Conversation events comprise of a relaxed, informal discussion between the special guest and the Chancellor, concluding with a Question and Answer session of pre-selected audience questions.
In Conversation events take place at 6.30pm in the Woolf Lecture Theatre at the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus. They are free and open to all.
Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin OBE is an internationally bestselling author. He is most famous for writing the Inspector Rebus novels which were adapted for a TV series. He is also a playwright, and a regular contributor to TV arts programmes.
Other guest speakers for the In Conversation series include film critic Mark Kermode, TV journalist Alastair Stewart and novelist Louis de Bernieres.
After each talk, there is a ticketed High Table Dinner. Tickets for dinner are £45.00 per person which includes a pre-dinner drinks reception and a 3-course meal. Money raised from the sale of tickets for this part of the event goes towards the Chancellor’s Hardship Fund.
