This collection contains around 2500 cartoons created by cartoonist Mel Calman in the 1980s, donated to the BCA in 1997. An additional collection of personal archival material was later deposited by the Calman family, including sketches, notebooks, correspondence and commercial work.

The cartoon collection is partially catalouged. Please email us at cartoons@kent.ac.uk if you would like any more information about the collection. We also hold a smaller collection of cartoon newspaper cuttings of Calman's work. These can be found on the BCA catalogue.

See our Mel Calman biography.
