Joel Montgomery is a lecturer in Leadership at Kent Business School. He was a Vice-Chancellor research scholar at the University of Kent, where he is completing his PhD in Management. He holds a MSc in Human Resource Management and a BA (Hons) in Politics both at the University of Kent.
Joel is primarily interested in organisational politics and the political arena of organisations. His PhD concentrates on the political will of individuals, the motivation to engage in political behavior both within employees of traditional organisations and politicians whose job is to be political. To this regard, he has focused on the political work space, interviewing political leaders and chief executive officers within local councils throughout the U.K. to gain an in-depth knowledge of the content of these leaders’ political will.
Joel has teaching experience through his time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at undergraduate and MBA levels on modules such as Introduction to Management and the Psychology of the contemporary workplace.
In the autumn term of 2021, he is convening Business Skills for HRM and in the spring term of 2022, he is convening both, The Psychology of the Contemporary Workplace and The Psychology of Selection and Assessment.
