About

Aletta Harrison is a Lecturer in TV journalism and digital storytelling.

Aletta completed her undergraduate degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Kent before working for 12 years as a journalist in newsrooms in the UK and South Africa. She was deputy video editor for the largest news website in South Africa, News24, prior to embarking on a career in higher education in 2020.

Aletta was Programme Director for the BA Hons Multimedia Journalism degree at Canterbury Christ Church University prior to joining the team at the Centre for Journalism. 

Aletta is responsible for teaching practical video journalism and digital storytelling skills to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also assists in teaching BBC Senior Apprentices the skills needed to pass the National Qualification in Journalism (NQJ).
