- Sameena Hoda
Sameena joined CEWL (now Global Learning) as a pre-sessional English lecturer in 2014. As well as being an EAP tutor, she has been an Academic Adviser on the Foundation Year for some years. She currently co-convenes the Foundation Project module (FOUN0035).
Sameena has extensive experience of teaching English in the UAE and in Italy. Prior to becoming an EAP tutor, Sameena worked as a law lecturer. She holds a bachelor’s in law (Aston University), a master’s in law with merit (University College London), the LPC (BPP Law School) and an MA in TESOL with distinction (University of Sunderland).
In 2023, Sameena completed her MSc in psychology (CCCU) with distinction. Her dissertation focused on the impacts of casual employment on university teaching staff well-being. She is currently a social psychology PhD candidate at Canterbury Christ Church university. Her study investigates the disparities encountered by different migrant groups on their arrival in Britain.
Having been awarded the FHEA in 2022, in 2023, Sameena was awarded the Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. When time permits, she mentors colleagues interested in pursuing their fellowship goals and is also an internal reviewer of fellowship applications.
