Enrolment

Who completes enrolment?

Enrolment is the process for new students, whereas returning students complete Returning Registration. Masters students who studied their Undergraduate degree at the University of Kent should complete enrolment, not Returning Registration. 

What is the enrolment process?

Once you have applied to Kent and received an offer from us, you will receive an email to your personal email address and a message in your KentVision intray asking you to enrol.

Enrolment is completed by you, online in KentVision, and is the process where you provide your personal details, check we have your correct course details and agree to the terms and conditions of becoming a student at the University of Kent. We have step by step text and video guidance on how to enrol to help you through the process. 

Once you have completed enrolment, you will receive an email to your personal email address confirming this. You don’t have to do anything further until we contact you confirming that we have registered you.

When is the enrolment deadline?

Some schools/courses have a personalised deadline, but most adhere to the same deadline each year in mid October (for September new starters) or early February (for January new starters). The enrolment deadline can be found on the how to enrol webpage.

My tuition fees (also known as finance registration)

Who completes my tuition fees?

My tuition fees automatically opens in KentVision after you have completed enrolment or Returning Registration. It is the process of you confirming your financial information in relation to your tuition fees.

Registration

Who completes Registration?

Registration is the process that we complete after you have enrolled. We check the details on your record and then confirm that you are a student. This process is done online, with the exception of visa students who complete Registration in person, usually at the Arrivals Hub (Canterbury) or the Gillingham building reception (Medway).

Once we have registered you as a student, you will receive a confirmation email which details how to activate your IT account and how to collect your ID card.

Online Module Registration (OMR)

Who completes OMR?

The majority of students complete Online Module Registration - it is how you choose which modules you would like to study for the upcoming year.

  • For students entering Stage 1, this is in September and is on a first come, first served basis.
  • For students entering Stages 2+, this is in March and is not on a first come, first served basis.
  • For students entering Stage 1 in January, or for Postgraduate students starting in either September or January, this is on a first come, first served basis.  

What is the OMR process?

You are emailed and asked to begin the Online Module Registration process. This can be completed before or after you have completed enrolment or Returning Registration.

When is the OMR deadline?

OMR is usually open for two weeks. The Online Module Registration deadline is on the OMR webpage.

Returning Registration

Who completes Returning Registration?

Returning Registration is completed by you, online in KentVision, when you are entering Stages 2, 3 and, where applicable, Stage 4. It is not completed by new students.

This process is completed at the start of each new academic year and is you registering to confirm that you are continuing as a student at the University of Kent for the upcoming academic year.
