 Marika Tomasi

About

Marika graduated in 2019 in Architectural Engineering at the University of Trento (IT), where she attended a five-year program on architecture, urban planning, and engineering. This multidisciplinary formation permitted her to acquire the technical creativity that she tested on the occasion of some design and build projects, in collaboration with other students. In her Masters thesis, she proposed a climate adaptation plan developed by coupling the urban planning practice with the meteorological modelling potential.

She also spent an exchange period at the Technical University of Munich (DE), where she gathered different perspectives about her research.

After a brief working experience in landscape planning, she has become Early Stage Researcher for SOLOCLIM, a European Industrial Doctorate (EID) project in the programme Innovative Training Networks (ITN) and part of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions funded by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 programme.

Research interests

With her work, Marika aims to promote urban adaptation and improve outdoor climate conditions with a multi-scale approach. She has developed a great interest in analysis and modelling instruments, which can support the design process and contribute to the evaluation of the proposal’s effectiveness.

PhD Title

Solutions for Outdoor Climate Adaptation (SOLOCLIM): integration of climate-responsive systems in master planning.
