Lea Kamitz

Lea is a Research Student within the Centre of Research and Education in Forensic Psychology (CORE-FP), and an Associate Lecturer for the School of Psychology. 

She completed her BSc (Hons) in Psychology and her MSc in Forensic Psychology at the University of Kent.  

• Understanding desistance from offending behaviour, especially sexual offending
• Intimate relationships of individuals who have offended sexually
• The role intimate partners play in the desistance of individuals who have offended sexually

Lea’s primary research interests are within the area of Forensic Psychology. In her PhD, she aims to explore the intimate relationships of individuals who have offended sexually, and how these relationships relate to their desistance from future crimes. 

Specifically, Lea will investigate current and former partners of individuals who have been accused of committing a sexual offence. This may provide an understanding of the factors underlying the decision to stay with or leave one’s partner after finding out that they have been accused of committing an offence.
