Advancing to Senior Leadership

The Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship helps managers take their next step into senior leadership roles. During the apprenticeship, learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to become transformational leaders with an innovative mindset.

Work-Based Learning and Projects 

Much of the programme is centred around work-based learning and projects, which means that apprentices will be adding value to the organisation while working through the degree.

Outstanding Teaching Experience 

As part of the triple-accredited Kent Business School, participants receive an outstanding teaching experience throughout the programme.

Comprehensive Support and Resources 

In addition to on-the-job and off-the-job training, learners will have access to online content and resources and be supported by a dedicated Apprenticeship Advisor.

Duration and Commitment

Programmes

The apprenticeship lasts 48 months, excluding the end-point assessment, with face-to-face teaching one day per week in central London. An accelerated 36-month version is also available.

Combined Learning

Face-to-face teaching is complemented by online learning through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Apprentices meet with an Apprenticeship Advisor every 10-12 weeks.

Support and Reviews

Line managers support apprentices in their roles and attend progress reviews with the Apprenticeship Advisor every 10-12 weeks to approve skills and behaviours for the end-point assessment.

Qualification

This apprenticeship follows the Level 6 Chartered Manager Apprenticeship Standard. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, learners will gain a BA (Hons) in Business and Management which is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). 

Fees and funding 

The maximum funding for this apprenticeship is £22,000, which can be covered by the Apprenticeship Levy or by government co-investment.  

Other additional costs to the employer may include accommodation and travel for face-to-face teaching blocks.

Entry requirements

  • Apprentices enrolling on this programme are expected to have achieved CCC at A Level, or 34 points (16 at Higher Level) in the International Baccalaureate (or equivalent). Those looking to undertake the accelerated pathway are required to have ABB at A Level of equivalent. 
  • All applicants are required to hold 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade C or above (or equivalent qualification).  
  • Applicants who do not meet these entry criteria still be considered based on previous experience on a case-by-case basis.

London Location 

Our London-based Chartered Manager course is delivered in person at Garfield House on the Edgware Road, close to Marble Arch tube station. The location offers a contemporary and high-quality learning environment in central London that is easily accessible by many London-based employers and their apprentices.  

MODULES

The following modules are typically studied each year. For the award of a BSc (Hons) degree, students must accrue 360 credits which includes the end-point assessment.     

Stage 1

Principles of Business, Self-Managed Learning, Introduction to Statistics for Business, Business Analysis Tools, New Enterprise Development and the Digital Consumer.

Stage 2

Introduction to Contract Law, Strategic Marketing, Self-Managed Learning 2, Human Resource Management, Operations and Project Management, Consultancy Project.

Stage 3

Sustainability and Purposeful Business, Self-Managed Learning 3, Strategic Management, Strategic Innovation Management, Final Project.

Apprentices also take one elective module in either: Brand Building and Management, Industry Studies.

The Chartered Manager Apprenticeship is also available in an online format.
