Documents to bring

Getting everything in order now saves a lot of stress later on. Check our list to make sure you bring all the documents you need along with you.

  • UK/Irish Passport
  • University or College Payment Advice letter from Student Finance England (if relevant). This may need to be scanned by the Finance team to ensure any maintenance loan payments are paid on time. 
  • Proof of qualifications (if required)
  • Visa documentation (if relevant). This must be a scan or photograph; a clear image and in colour. You may be required to provide a share code for us to verify your digital status.

  • Passport/national ID (EU only)
  • Proof of immigration permission includes (list not exhaustive):
    • eVisa sharecode
    • Biometric Residence Permit (take immediate steps to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa)
    • Home Office documents relating to immigration permission
    • Proof of pending application *
    • Short term students (less than 6 months) should provide evidence of travel incl. name and date of entry to the UK.

We cannot register you if you can't provide the required identification to pass the Right to Study check. You will not be issued your KentOne card until completed.

*If you have submitted your visa application but not yet had a decision, provide a copy of your ‘Document Checklist’ or ‘Submitted Application’ as proof of pending application. You download this PDF from your application portal.

We encourage you to obtain a passport which is required as official ID when opening a bank account, applying for work or verifying your age. If you do not have one, please contact us prior to your arrival.

UK/EU students

  • Health certificates – tuberculosis (TB) certificate/health insurance certificate (if applicable)
  • Proof of your finances (including scholarship/sponsorship letters)
  • Copy of your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) email
  • Proof of qualifications – original documents (if required)

  • Moving in

    Canterbury campus

    If you are moving into campus accommodation in Canterbury you'll need your Unloading Permit to enable you to unload your belongings close to your accommodation.

    You'll need your Accommodation Arrival Pass. You'll need to show this to the receptionist before you can get into your room.
