Alongside promoting research into how cultural forms can establish global connectivity, we also wish to develop collaborative modes of intellectual enquiry and a culture of global academic connectivity, by identifying and developing a national and international network of researchers who share the project's concerns. In order to do this, from October 2010 to December 2011, we will be running a series of diverse, informal workshops on the following topics:

  • the postcolonial graphic novel
  • separatism in settler communities in Southern Africa, with a comparative dimension
  • the breakdown of trust, discourses of authenticity and cultures of violence in postcolonial Zimbabwe and Algeria
  • the role of music and mutliculturalism in re-establishing trust
  • homophobia, homosociality and religion
  • security and separatism in the context of Israel/Palestine

If you would like to participate in any of our workshops, we would very much like to hear from you. You can contact us here
