About
Alex joined the University in spring of 2019 after graduating Canterbury Christ Church University in 2018 with a 2:1 in Digital Media. First starting off in hospitality, Alex worked his way up to the IT and Library Support team in Information Services before jumping up to a Digital Learning Technologist for e-learning in June 2024. His main strengths are photography, editing and recently, diving in to web development.
Through a support centric background in assisting students, staff and external stakeholders, Alex brings a strong customer focus and positive attitude to the team and endeavours to help all he can. He aims to make a difference, and bring a positive and nurturing energy to the university; leaving a positive impression on everyone he helps.
Alex became invaluable in his time at the University during COVID-19 in hospitality where health and safety were of the utmost concern, and in ITLS he would take it upon himself to personally see someone’s problems through to the end, ensuring that they got the help that they needed and they can leave happy. He has strong working relationships with his old teams and remains close friends to a few, and believes that through unity and supporting one another the University can be a cornerstone of Higher Education and the student experience.
Outside of work, Alex can usually be found in book shops or game shops, adding to the ever growing manga and novel collection and trading card collection (with out the space to put them!) and although he might seem absent minded or distracted, Alex is always thinking creatively; either about his next story to write, or what’s for dinner!
