- Fiona Symes
Fiona Symes (previously Fiona Godfrey) was born in London and grew up in Brussels, where she started her career in administration. She worked in England as a senior secretary/translator, before gaining a BA (Hons) in French and an MA in Applied Language Studies at Kent.
Fiona has taught French at Kent since 2004, and completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) in 2010. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Fiona has been involved in various projects in the School of European Culture and Languages, including the organisation of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) Business French exams, and the creation of electronic language learning resources.
Her academic interests include language teaching for specific purposes; translation and linguistic issues; and French and international cinema.
Fiona teaches modules on French language and French for business/professional purposes.
