General interest courses

There is ample opportunity for informal study at the University of Kent. Short courses, study days and lectures are open to all - staff, students and members of the public.

Learn a new language

The Language Centre offers Kent students the opportunity to study a variety of language modules as part of your existing degree programme or as an additional extracurricular module.

Learn a new language or brush up on your existing language skills. Choose from Arabic, Catalan, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian and Spanish - all offered at different levels to suit you.

Fluent Futures

Fluent Futures at the University of Kent is our project to expand the horizons of our community, offering all students the opportunity to learn languages such as Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian or German alongside their degrees at no extra cost.

International summer schools

We offer faculty-led short courses and summer schools tailored directly to the needs of your students and staff.

On our short courses, your students and staff will enjoy studying at a globally recognised university either on the outskirts of the historic city of Canterbury, or on our vibrant Medway campus.

The University also provides a wide range of popular Open Lectures. Our programme includes a variety of interesting speakers covering diverse subject matters.

Open Lectures are free to all and no booking is required.
