What we do

Campus Security are the main providers of security within the University estate. Campus Security are responsible for the provision of the following services:

  • Security of students, staff, visitors, buildings and other University assets
  • Provision of first responder first aid
  • Operating the 24/7 control room and CCTV system
  • Building access/Key control
  • Lost & found property
  • Liaison with emergency services
  • Patrolling of the estate
  • Emergency procedures (alarm response etc.)
  • Special events security.

Meet the Team

There are over 50 staff engaged on security duties, operating on shifts 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. You will always be able to contact a member of security staff, whatever the time of day.

There are 5 Duty Managers at the Canterbury campus, and a Security Supervisor at Medway who are responsible for delivering a first-class security service to staff, students and visitors. You can find them at the Security & Transport Centre in the Banking Hall (Canterbury) or the Medway Building.
