- Rebecca Coleman
Rebecca is an EAP tutor in the International Programmes (IP) department at the University of Kent and teaches on the International Foundation, in-sessional and pre-sessional programmes. She is also an academic adviser and a course convenor for academic programmes. Rebecca joined the Centre for English and World Languages (now International Programmes) full time in September 2012 having previously taught for the department on the pre-sessional and various In-sessional courses.
Rebecca has taught extensively on English for Academic Purposes (EAP), EFL, Cambridge English (FCE), IELTS, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), English for Special Academic Purposes (ESAP) and teacher training courses in universities and language schools in the UK; she has also undertaken Erasmus exchanges in France and Finland.
Rebecca graduated with a distinction in both her Diploma TESOL and her Master's in TESOL, in which she specialised in verbal memory and its development with the use of popular song.
Rebecca is also an experienced CELTA Main Course Trainer (MCT) and successfully managed and led the CELTA course at the University of Kent 2012–2018. She has recently become a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has published in several ELT journals. She enjoys developing stimulating materials relevant to student needs and learning platforms.
