Our Graduate Theatre Companies (GTC) scheme offers the opportunity to graduating students - undergraduate and postgraduate - to apply to become a graduate theatre company supported and mentored by the Drama department
At Kent we take pride in our range of module choice. From your
first year you can begin to shape the course of your degree: specialising in
particular areas such as comedy, physical theatre, or acting; or exploring a
diversity of exciting topics including musical theatre dance, accessibility in
the arts, adaptation, community and applied theatre, auto/biographical performance,
and gender and identity.
Support
Throughout your degree your academic development is supported by
a team of lecturers who combine research excellence with professional
experience as directors, technicians, or practitioners. Your personal
development and wellbeing is supported by the award-winning Arts Student
Support team.

Being a short walk from
the cultural hub of Canterbury and only 50 minutes by train from central London
we are well-placed for students wanting to experience both regional and
national theatre. You also benefit from our close relationships with major
regional theatres including the Gulbenkian and the Marlowe.

Drama at Kent is a vibrant and inclusive international community of academics, practitioners, and
students, connected through our shared passion for theatre and performance. Our
research expertise covers histories, practices and philosophies of theatre and
performance. Current areas of staff research include: disability and
neurodiversity; physical theatre and dance; comedy and politics; and war and
commemoration.
