Study Abroad & Exchanges Officer at the University of Kent
I started at the University as a temp in 1992, working in a number of different departments but my most rewarding role was with the International Office.
I manage the Study Abroad Office, for both the incoming and outgoing exchange and study abroad students from countries outside of Europe. The largest cohort come from the US, with Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, China and South America being other popular destinations.
I also represent Kent at study abroad fairs and exhibitions in the US, where I often have the pleasure of meeting up with our alumni.
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to visit virtually all of our exchange partners. I am passionate about study abroad, and hope that my enthusiasm filters through to the students.
My aim for the future is to reach out to more students so they can understand the benefits of studying abroad.
