This year’s Kent Union Party in the Car Park, also known as the Summer Ball, had its share of VIPs, including our own Kent Bunny.
Upon arriving at the event, students were able to have their photograph taken with Kent Bunny before moving into a 1960s-themed 50th anniversary tent. A Marilyn Monroe impersonator greeted party-goers, and a Beatles tribute band played pop hits that proved as well known by students today as they were 50 years ago.
This year, students enjoyed performances by several up-and-coming artists, including Raleigh Ritchie, Youth Club and Saint Raymond. The headliner for the evening was Example, who teamed up with DJ Wire to provide a slightly heavier beat as students danced late into the night.
Kent Union also delivered fireworks for the event, and students gathered outside to watch as the sky lit up, marking this year’s summer ball as a particularly special celebration in the University’s 50th year.
For those graduating this summer, the night was a fitting final event to celebrate 3-4 years of hard work and meant that students could leave the University of Kent in high spirits. It’s safe to say that Kent Bunny had a great time at the special 50th anniversary edition of the Summer Ball, too. Check out the video to see what Kent Bunny got up to on the night!
