Alan Davies, Harry Hill, Sandi Toksvig, Jo Brand and Phill Jupitus took part in the show which was produced by QI creator John Lloyd CBE. There was a special guest appearance from University of Kent Chancellor, Dr Gavin Esler, and broadcaster Charlotte Green.
The special one-off show focused on Quite Interesting things about Kent, and everyone involved in the show had a connection to the University and/or the county. Alan Davies is a former University of Kent student who began performing stand-up in Whitstable, Jo Brand grew up near Tunbridge Wells, Harry Hill was educated in Kent and now lives in the county, as does Sandi Toksvig, and John Lloyd was born in Dover. Phill Jupitus is the parent of Kent students, and both Gavin Esler and Charlotte Green are Kent alumni.
All proceeds from the evening went towards the Kent Opportunity Fund, which has been built over the past 50 years by alumni, staff, students and other donors. It supports the Alumni Postgraduate Research Scholarship that allows an exceptional Kent graduate to carry out ground-breaking research, funds student projects to enhance extra-curricular activities at Kent, and provides bursaries to support students experiencing immediate and serious financial hardship.
We are extremely grateful to all the panellists and the QI team who gave up their time, for free, to support this important cause.
