As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, Kent Sport organised 50 events aimed at encouraging students, staff and members of the local community to become more active. The events ranged from quizzes to parties, and included competitions, trips and taster sessions:
Kent Sport collaborated with the Latin & Ballroom, Belly Dancing and Salsa societies to host Kent Sport does Come Dancing.
A Halloween-themed fun run around the Kent grounds. Each runner wore a tag belt and had to complete the course with both tags still in place. The challenge was to avoid the zombies who were strategically placed around the route, whose job was to try and remove the tags.
On 17 December 2014, runners dressed up as Santa to complete a run around campus to raise money for charity during the festive season.
On 10 December 2014, the Main Hall of the University of Kent Sports Centre was transformed into a Gladiator Arena. Students had the chance to compete against the Kent Sport Gladiators in a set of physically challenging games.
On 17 May 2015, the University of Kent’s Quidditch team, the Flying Chaucers, participated in a Quidditch tournament as part of the 50:50 series of sporting events to mark the anniversary year.
On 14 November 2014, Kent Sport and Sk8 Ltd hosted a roller disco at the Canterbury campus.
