BritWeek in LA
As part of the University’s 50th anniversary celebrations, we hosted Kent’s first US alumni weekend in LA from 30 April to 3 May, which included the Innovation in Academia awards at BritWeek.
The weekend was the first of its kind to be hosted in the USA by the University of Kent. Alumni from across the country attended and embraced the opportunity to re-connect with their fellow alumni, while also enjoying a range of exciting events. Highlights included the Innovation in Academia Awards, a mixer at the Deputy Consul General's residence in LA and a private tour of the Getty Centre.
Kent is the first UK university to host the Innovation in Academia awards in partnership with Brit Week, an initiative which celebrates creativity and innovation between Europe and the US. The University of Kent award for Innovation in Academia honours individuals whose professional accomplishments have made a significant and lasting impact in the field of higher education.
