About

Minna is the Staff Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Adviser at the University of Kent. She has worked within EDI Team (Academic Strategy, Planning and Performance) at the University of Kent since 2021, prior that she was the Athena SWAN Adviser, based in Talent and Organisational Development (since 2016). Minna supports the University in its mission to create a welcoming, inclusive, safe and supporting working and learning environment which recognises and enables all our students and staff to thrive. She does this by promoting, supporting, and developing equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives in relation to the staff and student experience with the aim of creating a fully inclusive culture. Whilst at Kent Minna has contributed towards several successful Athena SWAN submissions (both Schools and institutional level).

Minna is originally from Finland but has lived in England since 2015. She came here to do her Masters in HR (in Southampton), found her partner and now has two lovely children with him and has settled in the countryside just outside Canterbury.

In her free time Minna would like to do more volunteering (once the children are a little bit older!). In the meantime out of work hours are filled with playdates, children’s swimming or football lessons and countryside walks with the smalls.
