The Centre’s lecture and research seminar series provide a forum in which colleagues from the University of Kent and from other universities in the UK and abroad can present aspects of their current research in the field of modern European literature.

Conferences and workshops

The Centre hosts regular conferences and workshops, the most recent being ‘Alone Together: Changing Forms of Sociability from the Rise of Modernism to the Digital Age’, which took place online on 17 and 18 September 2020. Recordings of all of the papers and discussions are available online.

CHASE Summer school

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2018, the Consortium for the Humanities in South-East England (CHASE) Comparative Literature summer school took place on 24-26 June 2019.
