- Dr Mathilde Poizat-Amar
Dr Mathilde Poizat-Amar holds a PhD in French Studies from the University of Kent and the University Paris-X Nanterre (France). She has worked at the University of Kent as a Lecturer in French since 2014.
Mathilde conducts research in the area of 20th and 21st French literature, and more particularly on French travel writing. Her first monograph (Peter Lang, 2017) investigates links between Modernism and travel writing through the works of Blaise Cendrars, Victor Segalen and Albert Londres.
Her current lines of research examine contemporary forms of travel writing in relation to post-war literary theory; contemporary French and Francophone literature; and the Digital Age.
Prospective doctoral students are welcome to contact Mathilde if they are interested in topics related to her areas of research.
Mathilde teaches French cinema and modern French literature.
